Education is the most vital process that contributes to all round development of a society. It is not only brings about the best in human personality, but can also be the medium of peace and progress of a nation. Mizoram is a state that is associated at the south east part of the nation. The education in Mizoram is controlled by the council of ministers as well as the directorate of education. Today, Mizoram has the distinction of being the second most literate state in India. The department of education in Mizoram is very organized and falls under the education directorate of Mizoram and a council minister in the ministry of education of the state. The literacy rate of Mizoram as per the census report of 2011 is 91.58%. In 1903 the government handed over the responsibility of primary education entirely to the missionaries. The government’s attention to education increased significantly after independence. The efforts were done mainly to increase primary education. Before the year 1987, a group called the missionaries of the state took it upon themselves to build new schools in Mizoram and look after the education in state. But after 1987, the reins of education came in the hands of cabinet of ministry of Mizoram, that the education sector improved by leaps and bounds and has increased the literacy rate. “Education… becomes an act of depositing, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor.
